Contemplation and revelation

Acabo de abrir Reality Hunger: A Manifesto, el libro de David Shields que ha calentado tanto al gremio. Aparentemente, el libro es puritita intertextualidad; está construído sobre las citas de otros, en formato aforístico y, como 120 días de sodoma, su intención es vulnerar todas las normas de civismo literario para desmontar la falacia del género, la autoría y la ilusión de realidad.
De momento, me gusta. No tanto como a Jonathan Lethem o a Coetze. Me gusta también su introducción en The Believer.
The world exists. Why recreate it? I want to think about it, try to understand it. What I am is a wisdom junkie, knowing all along that wisdom is, in many ways, junk. I want a literature built entirely out of contemplation and revelation. Who cares about anything else? Not me.
