More, the connections are there, just hidden. Deleuze and Guattari called it the rhizome. Like mangroves the roots spread out and later, further along the way, a new tree grows up...but they're one and the same. Also, Buddha would have it that everything is interconnected.
Myth is open faced for universal interpretation, its not janus faced. Surely?
